Clinch Mountain Backstep

$15.00

Description

Another “must know” jam favorite. This time like “Man of Constant Sorrow” it’s in modal or the mountain style popularized by the Stanley Brothers and more recently by Blue Highway. No major thirds!
This is an intermediate version of a solo you can take on the tune. If there’s enough interest we could have a lesson on a second solo that would stray a little further out from the melody. But for now this will get you some nods from the jam circle. Full of G blues phrases that are used by Rob Ickes yet not so difficult that you’ll need him to play it for you.

As always you’ll get a slow version and one at tempo along with a note by note breakdown of how to play the arrangement. And as usual you’ll also get the rhythm tracks at both tempo’s to practice with or use to play along with at the next talent show. Tab in a PDF format is included, no need to use the tabledit program to view or print.

The Stanley Brother’s are about the coolest first generation sound to have ever walked the earth. My personal favorites. 30 minutes of video and insights of what to watch out for and avoid when you learn this.
